Get Out Of Your Own Way

I remember listening to a song when I was growing up that said:

“if you can’t help me, please don’t stop me. Move on out of my way and don’t try to block me.”

I believe the song writer was talking to others who might have been trying to interfere with her calling, purpose, or progress. But y’all sometimes WE are our own biggest hindrance to our calling, purpose, or progress, or whatever it is that we want to do. We allow our own fears, self-doubt, negative thoughts, and unrealistic expectations among other things to stop us and block us. But we don’t have to. It’s an intentional, moment by moment choice to do otherwise.

So, can I encourage you to get out of your own way? You are strong enough, pretty enough, good enough, smart enough, brave enough...you have enough, and you are enough! Period.

The next time you have an idea, or want to do something positive, say something courageous, or be something great and negative thoughts, doubt, or fear creeps in, remember that song and sing it to yourself if you have to.

You ARE enough. Get out of your own way.
