New Holiday Traditions: How Will You Connect Virtually?

This time of the year can be energizing, inspiring, a bit hectic, and sometimes downright overwhelming. We treasure the winter break as a time to catch up and spend with family and friends, especially during thanksgiving and Christmas. Many of us are concerned about COVID 19 this holiday season, having to relinquish family traditions, and not spend time with the people we care about. As we contemplate the “new normal” during the COVID pandemic and holiday season, consider new options and traditions for connecting while staying safe. Connect live, in real time with family and friends anywhere from your cell phone, laptop, computer, or smart TV. We may not be able to experience the same in-person connection, but neither should we allow the pandemic to completely ruin our holiday plans. Stay connected during this season of gratitude and create new traditions for holiday festivities. I haven’t tried these yet, but check out the top 6 ideas to connect virtually this season:
1. Free online card games with friends: a google search produced many options such as arkadium.com, trickstercards.com, and cardzmania.com.
2. Play family feud online at familyfeud.com or your device’s app store (play.google.com or apps.apple.com).
3. Host a watch party: binge your favorite Netflix series, sports, or your favorite holiday movie.
4. Host a virtual talent show on zoom or another platform for kids, families, friends, or neighbors.
5. Give live family moments of thanks on Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube live.
6. Hangout with family and friends on Google Hangouts, WhatsApp, Facebook messenger, or the Houseparty App.

Take pictures and let us know how you will connect virtually this holiday season. Share your photos and comments with the hashtag #intentionalLifeHolidays.
