Where Are You?
As I was cleaning this morning, listening to a podcast, a seemingly mindless thought crossed my mind. Where are you? My initial thought was: what a silly question. I’m in my house cleaning up. NO, WHERE ARE YOU? It surfaced again. I then thought about Adam and why he was asked that question in the Garden of Eden. It hit me like a ton of lightweight bricks. I am where I choose to be. I accept full responsibility for that. My life is a reflection of my choices, and there are natural consequences, good and bad as a result of the choices I’ve made. The choices I’ve already made are in the past. I can’t change that. But if I’m not happy with where I am right now, I can choose to change that. If I’m not living how I want to, experiencing life as I’d like to, looking like I want to look, doing what I want to do, feeling like I want to feel, behaving like I want to behave, I can change that. I can choose something different.
Where are you today? Don’t let this question escape you as it almost escaped me. Take some time to think about where you are in life and decide if you like where you’ve chosen to be. If not, choose something different.
